I had a pretty good weekend. Kevin’s birthday was Sunday, so the kids and I went all out. We got baloons, streamer, Wolverine themed paper plates, made a cake, bought cards and a gift. I fixed dinner, and had a nice little time celebrating him. He enjoyed it. And yes, I have pictures!
Monday was a family day (they passed their inspection) so Kevin got a three day weekend. We spent it as a comfortable, lazy day. Kevin made a deal, kids clean up the kitchen and dinning room, they can play as many games, electronical or not, as they want. Monday night I worked on fine tuning the lesson plans for Tuesday.
Then we had today. I got up around 5:30, packed Kevin his lunch, and sent him on his way. By 6:30, I had the living room cleared, my Wii set up, and was working on the Gold’s Gym cardio. I also did a little of the WiiFit and called it quits around 7:30. I organized my answer book while waiting for a decent time to wake the kids, then got them up.
The morning started out ok. They had breakfast, brushed their teeth, and then time to start the few lessons.
And shit went down hill from there. Yhea I know, they don’t want to do work over the summer… no kid does, shit, I don’t want to either. But Kauchana REALLY needs the help in math and Language Arts, while Xavier needs work on reading and spelling… Since I knew it would cause a fight if Dokota didn’t have to do something, so I had him join in. Derric again, really needs work on fine motor. So I figured an hour a day of working on stuff, should be good, do it in the morning so afternoons are free…
Well, Kauchana pouted that shitty “Life is soo unfair” pout and pretty much refused to do anything without me doing every step for her. Xavier couldn’t do half his work because his glasses were broke, and Derric went along with them of not wanting to work with me… Dokota, the one who DIDN’T need help was the only one actually doing the work!! Until I got to spelling words for him, and then he started to act up…
So I went to fix Xavier’s glasses, the lense just popped out, should be an easy fix, between going step by step in math for Kauchana… Well, Xavier’s glasses were worse then I thought… You couldnt just pop the lense back in because he bent the frames all to hell again.. $300 this year on $50 glasses! I can’t afford him consently breaking them!!!
And the worst part? They were just fine the last day of school!!! He was wearing them while I was talking to his teacher. Somewhere between walking home and him emptying his bookbag, which is when he handed them to me, broke, they got all bent up… So since there was nothing in his bookbag, and they were in their hard shell case, I can only guess, how they got so bent up…
I am just done. Done. Done. Done.
