    Where am I?

There has been a whole lot of nothing really going on around here.

The kids are well into school.

The house is slowly getting unsummered.

    Fall weather is approaching.

And my house is in gear up mode. (another entry, another time)

    The First Week Back….

This first week of back to school has been harder then I thought. Honestly. The 6am alarm has been going off, but I am actually not hearing it until the 6:10 buzzard. I am sleeping threw the first one, and shutting it off while asleep. Not good. So the 6:10 goes off and I stretch, which is hard due to a child curled up between the husband and me. I turn off the alarm so not to wake the husband…. And the 6:20 alarms goes off… Fuck.

So I stretch again, this time more room due to child moving closer to dad. I hit the snooze again so as not to wake the husband…. And the 6:30 alarm goes off….. Fuck it!

Monday, I woke up at 6:00 no problem. Tuesday the 6:10 crawled me out of bed. Wednesday, I got up at 6:20 perfectly fine…. Thursday, I had troubles at 6:30… Today, I almost slept in till 6:40…. This is not good peoples.

But I crawled out of bed, grabbed my clothes and dressed, with said child that was sleeping soundly, waking up. I got 5 “Mommy, your up!” hugs as I made my way out of my room… I am finally dressed and slightly awake as I make my way down the stairs to the kids’ rooms…

First victim, er, I mean child, is Dokota… I open the door, which startles him awake (not sure why since I do this daily….) and go to be even crueler and turn on the light. The light flashes, and is out. grrrrr.

Kauchana is the next to wake up. She is a bit harder, mostly because she thinks she can be a total B and then smile and that makes it all better. I honestly hate waking her because of how she acts.

Xavier is the easiest to get up. Turn on light and he jumps out of bed and dresses within 3 minutes. That child is total morning child. Makes me sick.

Head back up stairs and Derric is already chowing down on breakfast. After his first little bag of poptarts, he is downstairs getting dressed and comes back up for seconds. That child can eat, when you find food he will actually eat!

Tis the same morning routine, but it seems everyday is getting harder and harder to actually wake up. Today I need to head to the BX, need light bulbs. Both Dokota and Kauchana’s rooms are out. I’ll by the bulbs, but they need to clean those rooms so I have room to replace them. I’m not sure I even know the colors of their floors anymore…

I also need to list my elliptical and waterbed on the yard sales website for this base. I have about 6-10 more weeks before my new bed arrives. So waterbed needs to be gone, and the elliptical needs out so I can move my bookcases from my room to the office. Which will clean up my bedroom greatly. Those bookcases make my room feel tiny and cluttered, even when it isn’t. And if we had thought about it more when buying the bed, we could have gotten the entire set because we are moving the bookcases, which will clear up room for the dressers. But we didn’t think about that when we bought it. Maybe an addition later in life. Right now, I just want my new bed.

Of course this does mean I have 6-10 weeks to break Derric of crawling in bed with me.. The water bed is easily to clean if he sleeps to hard and wets the bed. An actual mattress will be even harder. That is why his bed has the plastic. I don’t want plastic on my bed…

Oh well, I am rambling like crazy. I have an hour before the BX opens, two hours before the T-Mobile/TKS shop opens. I might be getting an iPhone, just need to do some research!!

    Attitudes Galore!

I was having a very nice quiet day today. I got some crocheting done on a wrap, did some reading, playing with my iPod, and managed to organize papers from the first day of school. I got my kids’ class schedules down, along with teachers and such. My day was going good.

Got the husband up early so we could cuddle and chat, then off to work he went. One of the families in our stairwell is in the process of moving out, so we have had a moving truck out front and movers going up and down the stairs all day.

    An average day.

I head over to get the kids.

Derric is the first one out. I get a quick run down on his morning from his aid and a thumbs up for the rest of the day from his teacher.

Xavier follows close behind, and I get that he had a good day. Good. He did have to write a note on why he wishes to do morning announcements. So I asked the question, Why does he? He honestly didn’t know! “But that is ok, he has all night to think of a reason…..” uhm…. why did you ask in the first place? Oh that is write, he wants to be popular so he thinks this will do it for him. Sorry Xavier, no, every 4th grader gets the chance, nothing makes it more popular. If I remember correctly, every 4th grader does it, want to or not….

With two in tow, I head to the middle school… all of 20 steps away lol (no, there are more, but not much)

Dokota is out first and we get a run by from Kauchana as she heads to a teacher for a sign off. Dokota is in a good mood. I figure good, an easy day! Get home, start supper simmering, and get homework done! Maybe even some outside play time….

Then Kauchana comes back out. She is pissed off and pissy. She forgot to get 2 teachers to sign her agenda, so now she has to be at school early. No big deal! But this girl has taken as a personal insult and crying up a storm. How dare the teachers call her on not doing what she is required to do…

The walk home turned into attitude city. I asked Xavier if he had thought of his reason yet, and was getting “because I want to” “it sounds like fun”. Dokota, being the “know it all” decides those are not good enough reasons and starts getting onto Xavier. So I get on to Dokota. Kauchana trails behind, still very much pissy.

Get in the house and Derric goes wild. Jumping here and there, running up and down the halls.

I work on Xavier’s folder, have him work on his assignment.

Dokota’s agenda was pretty easy. Went over his day and what he did in classes.

Kauchana’s turn turned into a nightmare. Now that Dokota had nothing to do, he decided to see how annoying he could be to Kauchana. Mimicing teachers, her, her actions, etc. I asked him to leave, he wouldn’t. Told him to walk Freya, again, he refused. I was very close to strangling the child by the time I finished with Kauchana.

Both Kauchana and Dokota refused to walk Freya after school, which they are supposed to do. So I had to because the poor dog was whining pretty bad.

It was attitude city in my house all afternoon. It got so bad, I couldn’t hear the husband when he called, so I had to close the door to my room just to hear, but even then I could hear it all still…

So I separated the kids. Each child to their room, Derric into my bed since he shares a room with Xavier, and everyone take a 30 minute quiet break. Derric crashed hard and the others came out with better attitudes. Supper was done and the nightly chores started. Down to the last couple of things. Showers and then bed!

Tomorrow is going to be an early and busy day.

    Manderscheid Fest & School Days

    Festivals galore!

Kevin, our two new friends, and I headed to Manderscheid over the weekend. We got to enjoy a Ren Fest at the Manderscheid Castle Ruins. We had lots of fun. It was the guys’ turn to drink, so Tori and I got to stay DD. She didn’t drink because I wasn’t drinking, since I was driving. It was pretty cool day. Found lots of stuff I wish I had the Euro to buy.

Parts of the Market were inside the castle, they also had little kid areas. Out on the main green was the center stage and the Jousting court. Lots of food stands and beer gardens. While exploring the castle, we even found a wine area, but since us girls weren’t drinking, we didn’t hang out there. Still Lots of fun!

Tori and I are thinking of working on outfits for next year. I think it will be lots of fun to go while dressed up! Think I will take the kids with also next year!! I know they will really enjoy it.

After school today, I took the kids to the big park on base. It was a fight to get Derric to go, one that resulted in him having a major meltdown and crying fit. I think four years in an apartment wasn’t that great for him, he doesn’t like going outside now. It is such [...] […]
