    Manderscheid Fest & School Days

    Festivals galore!

Kevin, our two new friends, and I headed to Manderscheid over the weekend. We got to enjoy a Ren Fest at the Manderscheid Castle Ruins. We had lots of fun. It was the guys’ turn to drink, so Tori and I got to stay DD. She didn’t drink because I wasn’t drinking, since I was driving. It was pretty cool day. Found lots of stuff I wish I had the Euro to buy.

Parts of the Market were inside the castle, they also had little kid areas. Out on the main green was the center stage and the Jousting court. Lots of food stands and beer gardens. While exploring the castle, we even found a wine area, but since us girls weren’t drinking, we didn’t hang out there. Still Lots of fun!

Tori and I are thinking of working on outfits for next year. I think it will be lots of fun to go while dressed up! Think I will take the kids with also next year!! I know they will really enjoy it.

    Mom’s Visit *long*

We had a really good visit with my mom. All the kids enjoyed her being here, they even went from calling her Grandma Jenny to just Grandmama. Her special title they said. She laughed, but loved it very much. Because of gas prices, we weren’t able to do too much, but we did manage to have some fun. Here is a run down of what we did, before I start with the pictures:

    • Cascade Pool
    • Köln Zoo
    • Trier – Imperial Baths, Dom Cathedral, Walkplatz

We also went to the Bitburger Brewery, the Bitburger is the prized beer around here, they said in a 4 year tour, you could try one type a day, and not taste every kind that is made…. Personally, I have thought about taking a tour.  I just need to find a babysitter for about 4 hours, since that is the average length of time for the tour and tasting at the end.

Anyway, I am drifting.. I was talking about mom’s visit, wasn’t I? Ok, I guess I can get back to that.

    The Last Day

Tuesday, the 10th was Derric’s last day of school. His school program ran Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Fri. So he went Monday, and it was a fight to get him to stay. Not sure what the problem was, but he just wasn’t having it. He came home in a better mood. Tuesday, he couldn’t wait to get to school. Wednesday, there was no school. Because he does afternoon classes, he probably could have gone to school today, but it is early out day, and on early out days, he has no school. So Tuesday was his last day of school.

St. Patricks Day & A Birthday

Yesterday was St. Patrick’s Day… A day to celebrate the Irish, with drinking and pinching anyone not wearing green… A day to send green food to school for kids to get high on sugar with. A day to avoid all people. And that is pretty much what I did. I got up and worked on my blog. I had thought about moving it to another directory, but research showed that I wouldn’t be able to move accounts with me, so that idea went out the window… So I worked on templates and found one I like.

    • A Spring Day May 10, 2012
After school today, I took the kids to the big park on base. It was a fight to get Derric to go, one that resulted in him having a major meltdown and crying fit. I think four years in an apartment wasn’t that great for him, he doesn’t like going outside now. It is such [...] […]
