And so… we have the teenage attitudes starting full swing around here.

The school year is just about done, only three more weeks…. scarry. Of course, there really wont be much of a summer vacation this year, with Kevin’s parents 99% sure they will be here, and his brother being here…. Plus Derric has Summer School this year.  Busy summer.

The end of the year stuff is starting to happen. The kids are spending more time out of the class on field trips then in the buildings. Field day for the elementary kids will be here, and IEP meetings to attend…. Xavier has 4th grade oriantation to attend, and yhea. Busy.

And all the while, I have three attitude kids at home, making me really hate being in the house 60% of the time…

So it was my birthday yesterday… turned 27…. I feel older.

The day itself was spent kinda relaxed. Managed to even get a nap in before needing to pick the kids up from school. Played on Free Realms for a bit also, that is kinda fun. A nice break from both EverQuest2 and WoW. Very kidsy, which I was in the mood.

Sorry for the rather down post. I have told myself several times this past year that I wouldn’t let the loneliness of being so far from friends and family get me down. I think I kept that attitude up all the way up until I sat to write the One Year Post. Looking back over the year, I realized, it hasn’t been all that I like to think it was. It down right sucked in many ways and I feel ashamed that my first year in Germany should suck that bad. Though I keep trying to tell myself, it really is not our fault, I can’t help it.

There are many things I wanted to do, and instead, we haven’t done any. Talking with Kevin, we have come up with a way to maybe do more on our limited budget. Prices for things are outrages, and when you add in how many are in the family, the prices are too far out of our grasp. Like, I wanted to take the kids to Frankenstein’s Castle for Halloween…. Sounds fun right? All the way up until you look at the price tag. It was 45 Euro per adult and 35 Euro per child between the ages of 4 and 11. That means it would be three adult tickets and three child. That is 240 Euro just for the tickets to go, add in food, drinks, and possibly a cheap item from there, we are talking about 300 Euro, and with the exchange rate, that becomes $450 give or take $20. Just for a 4 hour trip…. But this year, this year I am going to plan everything I can through the travel agent, then head to the USO to see what they can offer (they tend to run a bit cheaper).

I have a bit better outlook now that I know the two people that hate my husband are soon to be out of the squadron (one headed over to QA, the other I believe is PCSing), so that clears up all the shit. A few others have stated he is getting the very short end of the stick and they don’t agree with it, so at least others have noticed. Another good thing, hubby is being recognized for a F.O.D. poster he made up. (F.O.D. = Foreign Object Damage) The most amusing thing about it, his supervisor (which is one that hates him) has to be there when the Vice Commander recognizes him… I can hear the teeth grinding even now lol.

Today Kevin and I headed to the gym. Got him his FitLinxx account set up and I walked him through how to use it. Tomorrow should run a little smoother and we wont spend as long there since he will be on his machines while I am on mine. It is nice having him there with me. Plan on going daily, except on Derric bowling days. I like to be there for those.

My mom texted me last night, costs her $0.25 to text me. She wanted me to call her, so I did. She just wanted to brag about getting the WiiFit and the DS’s My Weightloss Coach. Grrrrr. Knowing I wanted those lol. My mom and stepdad are talking about getting those for me for my birthday, we shall see… hate the idea of waiting so long, but oh well, not much I can do about it.

Well, I am jumping all over the place with this post, so I think I will just end it here.. I want to work on a new template for this blog, something a little more colorful, so I will be spending free time this week working on that. For now, I need to finish downloading stuff and also get clothes into the washer.

Christmas has come early to our household this year. Mostly since orders are still very up in the air. Our dead line is coming by quickly and still very little word. But tis the way of the military.

This last Saturday, we had the Kids’ Christmas party and Kevin’s Squadron Party. We ended up at both. Kids enjoyed their time at the Kids’ Party. Honestly I felt it sucked, but it was for the kids…. Got the pictures up, so feel free to brows them here.

Christmas gifts from my mom and my grandma have already come in. Jen’s gift for each of the kids also came in. All we are waiting on is Kevin’s mom’s, but I am to the point I doubt they will get here before we leave. I am very annoyed with what Jen sent. She sent each of the kids a 4 gig Zen mp3 player.. What in the hell does an 8 and 10 year old need with a 4 gig mp3 player? They don’t listen to that much music. Over half of it will be waisted. Then, Kevin went through the songs she put on them… Yhea, he told me to wipe them. So I did. Yhea, 99% of those songs were so not age appropriate.  So they are gone. I had planned on putting some kid songs on my Zen for the kids to listen to on the plain ride… So I just put those songs on the Zens. They are the Kid Bops and Crazy Frogs. She did put a movie each on them, which did take up the un-used space that would be left over. I left those… But the songs are gone, replaced… Still not wanting to give them over.. I am so scared of how those expensive things will be treated… Still wondering why she sent something like that… But then again, she doesn’t do anything else for them, so why not.. *rolls eyes*

Anyway, I am thinking of going and getting a small lock box for each of them. Their gameboys, since they seem to end up where they don’t belong, will go in the box along with these new Zens. They will be brought out when needed and put back when done. Maybe, just maybe, I can keep them in good shape. And I am sure I hear a few of you asking why I bother… To tell the truth I have no clue. I just hate seeing stuff of such expensive cost get ruined. Yhea, I probably should just let the kids ruin them, after all, they aren’t my responsibility. But I just can’t seem to let go of the fact that they should be taken care of…

Blah, whatever.. Oh, good news. Kevin’s mom is getting us a laptop for Christmas… Well, she is sending us the money so we can.. Yhea, I get to blog while waiting for my stuff to arrive!! Hehe.. I wont have to go so long without updates. I am sorry you haven’t been getting much. I left a lot of it alone because I wanted to just disappear. I didn’t think anyone would mind or notice, with the holidays and all…  But I will be updating more as we go. My home page will be updated shortly with Christmas stuff…
